The Analects




The Analects
Confucianism is a Chinese philosophical system developed from the teachings of Confucius. These teachings are based in moral humanity and wrong actions. It is considered a very complex system because it includes moral, social, political and religious thoughts that had an incredible influence in East Asia. The Analects are considered the recompilation of the words and acts of Confucius and his disciples. They were written during the Spring and Autumn Period through the Warring States Period. The Analects contain all the basic Confucian values such as: propriety, loyalty, righteousness, and filial piety and they were all centered in humanity. For thousands of years Confucius thought were considered an important course to study in the Chinese culture, the men that was not enlightened by these thoughts was considered a man without moral.
As we study The Analects and Confucianism, we learned that Confucius influenced the Asian Culture by teaching basic values for human morality. Confucianism central idea was the relationship and it includes the values of filial piety and loyalty. From his teachings we learned that juniors have to respect the older people, and seniors have duties of benevolence and concern to juniors. These values are the ways people should treat toward others. People also have to cultivate humanity and it has to make good actions to others.
